Your Dreams Come True
Grooms Cakes
The groom’s cake tradition dates back to the 17th century England where they used pies instead of cakes. The bride and groom each had their own pie. The bride would eat one slice of her pie and then throw the rest of her pie over her head. This was to symbolize everything that she was willing to give up for her husband. The groom; however, ate all of his pie and then threw the empty plate over his head. The more pieces the plate broke into, the more years of happiness the new couple would have.
Today the groom’s cake has evolved into a special surprise gift from the bride to the groom. The groom’s cake is usually designed around a theme close to the groom’s heart such as a hobby or favorite sports team.
